Our Services

The team at Medicine in Motion Health Group are dedicated Allied Health Professionals who endeavour to promote exercise as medicine in the treatment of all our clients. We aim to educate our clients on the health benefits of exercise, motivate our clients to make good health choices and instil life-long changes in health behaviour.

Exercise Physiology

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP’s) specialise in clinical exercise prescription and the delivery of exercise & lifestyle modification programs for people who are at risk of, or living with chronic disease, such as:

  • Diabetes or pre-diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Cancer
  • Depression
  • COPD
  • Chronic pain
  • Osteoporosis
  • Osteoarthritis

Typically, AEP services will include:

  • Initial consultation and assessment to determine your current health status, medical history and exercise/physical activity history. This is also where the patient’s health goals will be discussed and determined
  • Explanation and education on how exercise treatment will improve the patient’s health condition and their quality of life
  • Developing an exercise program, either in the gym, pool or at home; individual or in a group; followed by instruction on how to complete the exercise program with correct technique.
  • Written reports to the referring GP, Nurse or Specialist
  • Ongoing assessment to track patient progress and update treatment program accordingly

Medicine in Motion has hydrotherapy facilities at both the Vincentia and Ulladulla clinic locations, as well as at the Bomaderry Aquatic Centre for our Nowra clients. Hydrotherapy is a great treatment modality for those who suffer from chronic pain, arthritis and for pre and post-surgery rehabilitation.
